I'm a tramp for praise, regardless of the terrible Catholic guilt I'm plagued with.

In the book "The Kid" the adopted parents went through an open adoption and the time after the birth sounded super, super awkward. The birth mother wanted to spend time with the baby, but so did the adopted parents Then when the adopted parents left the hospital with the baby and the birth mother remained in the hospital room with the social worker. Oh man, stressful. The adopted parents proceeded to bawl their eyes out as soon as they got in the car, feeling as if they stole the child.
